International Evening in Kolkata
Guests were offered delicacies of Russian cuisine cooked by the staff of the Russian Consulate General and their family members: pancakes with red caviar and salmon, pelmenis (veg and non-veg meat dumplings), salami and lard sandwiches, pickled gherkins, home baked pastries, etc. The stall was designed as a traditional Russian hut and decorated with samovars and matryoshka dolls.
Traditional food of Germany, China, France, Japan, Philippines and a number of Indian states including West Bengal was also presented at the Evening. .
During the course of the Evening a classical ballet troupe performed abstracts from P.I.Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake”, a live band was playing popular music, and artists presented South-East Asian folk dances.
