Sports Day on the occasion of the Diplomats’ Day at the Consulate General of Russia in Kolkata

On February 16, 2020 the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Kolkata held the Sports Day at its sports ground on the occasion of the Diplomats’ Day. Diplomats from Australian, German, Italian, Chinese, Nepali and French Consulates General as well as honorary consuls accredited in Kolkata along with diplomats and stuff members of the Consulate General of Russia and Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Kolkata took part in the event together with their family members.

Teams from consular missions contested for prizes on the volleyball ground. No less intensive were competitions in badminton, table tennis and chess. The sports event passed in the atmosphere of honest and uncompromised sportsmanship in the spirit of the Olympic movement.

After the competitions diplomats were offered refreshments prepared by the employees of the Consulate General. The event helped to strengthen friendly ties with the foreign colleagues and representatives of the Indian business community.
